Explore the war that changed the world through a unique storytime experience!

Join us most Tuesdays and Saturdays to spark your child's love of history with WWII-themed children's books plus fun activities and crafts for kids ages 3 to 8.

Storytime is FREE and open to the public! Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the program.

Storytime Themes, Books, and Activities

May: Springtime Stories of Hope and Rebirth

  • Featured Book: Gertie: The Darling Duck of WWII by Shari Swanson
  • Purchase a copy of this book.
  • Families will paint their own bird eggs with an encouraging message inside!

June: Celebrating America’s 250th with a WWII Veteran Author 

  • Featured Book: Happy Birthday to You by Dr. Suess 
  • Families will create birthday cards for the United States 

July: The Tuskegee Airmen 

  • Featured Book: Windflyers by Angela Johnson
  • Families will make paper airplanes

August: Stories Read on the Home Front

  • Families will make monkey puppets

September: Animals of World War II

  • Families will make dog hero badges

October: Supporting the War at Home

November: Quiet Bravery
