New Orleans plays host to an annual gathering of museum professionals.

On June 5, 13,400 American paratroopers boarded C-47 aircraft for the largest airborne operation in history. Problems began as they crossed into France. 

On January 10, 1942, the United States launched one of its most important and also most memorable domestic initiatives of the entire war: the “Salvage For Victory” campaign.
