Families across the New Orleans and Gulf Coast community are invited to enjoy live entertainment and family-friendly fun at our annual Family and Military Appreciation Block Party! Join us for a day of hands-on activities celebrating the military experience, from World War II to today.
Inspired by the special exhibitions Drawn to Combat: Bill Mauldin and the Art of War and Come Back Fighting: USS New Orleans at War, families will discover how servicemembers have demonstrated courage, creativity, teamwork, and resilience across generations through interactive experiences, live performances, and engaging activities throughout the Museum.
Activities include:
- Live performances from the Victory Belles, military bands, and local schools
- Interactive experiences hosted by local organizations, military partners, and Museum educators that highlight the military experience from World War II to today
- Free face painting by New Orleans Face and Body Painting
- Free sno-balls from Sneaux-La Snoballs
- Access to Beyond All Boundaries and the Priddy Family Foundation Freedom Theater experience (first come, first served; choose your showtimes at check-in)
- Access to the Museum’s world-class exhibits—including limited-run special exhibits Drawn to Combat: Bill Mauldin and the Art of War and Come Back Fighting: USS New Orleans at War
