Jorge Maspons presents Spanish Blue Division
Although Spain was officially neutral during World War II as a result of the Spanish Civil War, Spaniards participated on both sides during the war. Up to 50,000 volunteer Spaniards, designated as the German 250th Division, fought on the Russian front in Leningrad, and insisted that they were fighting the Russian army and not the Russian people. Join Jorge Maspons as he explores the contributions of the Spanish Blue Division.
Lunchbox Lectures are free and open to the public on every first and third Wednesday of the month. For more information call 504-528-1944 x 463.
