WWII Quiz Bowl

School Programs

Since 2004, The National WWII Museum has hosted an annual WWII-themed Quiz Bowl for high school students each spring. Quiz Bowl is an in-depth competition that challenges students with WWII knowledge and team-building. The preliminary round is on a Saturday morning, where teams from across the region compete by answering questions all about World War II. The two top teams then compete in a televised championship match.

The preliminary round is not a buzzer-type quiz. All teams answer the same questions at the same time on paper and are scored by a panel of Museum educators. Preliminary quiz consists of six themed rounds with 10 questions each.

The top two teams at the end of the preliminary round advance to the championship round conducted live on Cox’s regional television stations. The championship round is a standard buzzer-type competition. The championship quiz consists of three toss-up rounds and one lightning round.
