"Keep in Touch: Letters of Hope"
Bob Hope was a famous actor, comedian, singer, and dancer whose career spanned nearly 80 years. He received many awards for his work in entertainment, but perhaps the most rewarding part of his career was spent traveling and performing for US military personnel during World War II. The joy brought to the troops through Bob Hope’s time with the USO resulted in him receiving thousands of letters from troops over the course of his long career. His consistent effort to respond to them only emphasized his commitment to the US military. During this webinar, Linda Hope, daughter of Bob Hope, and The National WWII Museum will discuss her father’s legacy by examining some of the letters he received, emphasizing how this translates to current classrooms and how letter writing can still make an impact on active military communities today.
