The Museum lost a beloved member of our volunteer family on July 18, 2020 with the passing of Mrs. Jeannine Burk. Jeannine earned over 357 volunteer hours at the Museum beginning in July 2018. Although Jeannine was a relatively new addition to our volunteer corps, she was an integral member and seemed to have always been a part of the Museum family.

To unify the campus and create a formal entry to Museum grounds, The National WWII Museum has completed a dramatic new Founders Plaza, which spans Andrew Higgins Drive between Camp and Magazine Streets. The Plaza creates an impressive entryway to the institution’s grounds, safe passage for guests, and a pleasant setting for rest and reflection as part of the visitor experience. On January 26, during a private ceremony, the Museum will dedicate the Plaza and unveil the Horatio Alger Association American Spirit Bridge.

On October 12-14, The National WWII Museum, Commemorative Air Force (CAF) and Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation will once again host the WWII Air, Sea & Land Festival at the New Orleans Lakefront Airport to honor the legacy of those who contributed to Allied victory during World War II.
