Immersive environmental galleries tell the stories of American forces as they advance against distant enemies, with the experiences of individual citizen soldiers embedded in the larger story of the war.
Surrounded by a backdrop of Hollywood glamour and style, guests will be transported to another era. During World War II, Stage Door Canteens hosted a steady stream of GIs headed off to war, offering a welcome opportunity to forget their anxieties, with entertainment, fellowship and a little American spirit.
The American Sector Restaurant & Bar, the Museum’s full-service restaurant, also offers options for social and corporate events in a setting that mingles 1940s glamour with modern decor.
The Louisiana Memorial Pavilion offers the unique opportunity to dine, dance, or network surrounded by the workhorses of World War II, including a C-47 Skytrain and the historic LCVP Higgins boat, originally constructed right here in New Orleans.
