Every Tuesday night from 1938-1948, Bob Hope hosted The Pepsodent Show on NBC. The program held the number one spot on the radio charts from 1942-1944.

While many Americans are familiar with the idea of “code talkers,” knowledge about the fuller lives, stories, and experiences of American Indian Code Talkers is incredibly limited. The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, in partnership with Native communities, wants to help change that.

On display in the John E. Kushner Restoration Pavilion, The National WWII Museum’s LTV-4 is a testament to American innovation.

Curator Larry Decuers will take a look at the proposed plan to invade Kyushu, code-named Olympic, that was slated to take place on November 1, 1945, and what the Japanese response may have looked like.
