Education is at the heart of the Museum mission—teaching the lessons of World War II so all generations can understand the price of freedom and be inspired by what they learn. 

Beginning a research paper on World War II can be daunting. With Research Starters, you can get a basic introduction to major WWII topics, see recommended secondary sources, and view primary sources you can use from the Museum’s collection.

This program will be a conversation between Jason Dawsey, PhD, of The National WWII Museum's Institute for the Study of War and Democracy, and Michael Neiberg, PhD, inaugural Chair of War Studies in the Department of National Security and Strategy at the United States Army War College.

International Peace Day focuses on building a peaceful and prosperous future. The exhibition Remembered Light spotlights the McDonald Peace Windows and how one chaplain’s remembrances of destruction were woven into new, imaginative works of art out of the ruins and devastation of war.

The National WWII Museum hosts a number of ongoing and special events open to the public throughout the year. From learning workshops for the whole family to lectures (both scholarly and more general) to film screenings, the Museum offers a variety of programming that helps to deepen the understanding of the American experience in World War II.
