Dabney Montgomery, 1051st Quartermaster Service Group Aviation Company of the 96th Air Service Group attached to the 332d Fighter Group, served in southern Italy as a member of the Tuskegee Airmen.

 

Dabney Montgomery, 1051st Quartermaster Service Group Aviation Company of the 96th Air Service Group attached to the 332d Fighter Group, served in southern Italy as a member of the Tuskegee Airmen. Montgomery was raised in segregated Selma, Alabama and when he returned from the war he became a bodyguard for Martin Luther King Jr. as protesters marched from Selma to Montgomery in 1965.
