The National WWII Museum invites middle and high school educators to join us for an exciting professional development opportunity presented in partnership with the Intrepid Museum! Learn more about teaching WWII history through diverse voices and stories with resources from the collections of The National WWII Museum and the Intrepid Museum. Located in New York City, the Intrepid Museum was founded in 1982 with the acquisition of the storied WWII aircraft carrier USS Intrepid. The museum welcomes over one million visitors annually from all over the world and is dedicated to educating the public on and inspiring future generations.

During this professional development program, participants will visit The National WWII Museum’s galleries, including our newest special exhibit, Our War Too: Women in Service, and learn about teaching historical events from multiple perspectives. Participants will also have the opportunity to hear from our keynote speaker for this program, Colonel (ret.) Sheila Varnado. Colonel Varnado is highlighted in the Museum's special exhibit, Our War Too, and will speak on how women's military service during World War II helped to shape her experiences and career in the military.

Teachers who complete this program will receive a $50 Visa gift card and a certificate confirming they completed eight hours of professional development with The National WWII Museum. Teaching materials will be provided for free. Breakfast, lunch, coffee, and parking are also included.
