The National WWII Museum invites middle and high school educators to join us for an exciting professional development opportunity! Learn more about teaching with primary resources while exploring the roles of African American women during World War II and visiting the Museum’s newest special exhibit, Our War Too: Women in Service.
Participants will attend a screening of the documentary Invisible Warriors: African American Women in World War II and participate in a Q&A with the filmmaker, Gregory Cooke, and receive instruction from Dr. Dawn Chitty, Director of Education at the African American Civil War Museum in Washington, D.C. Participating educators will also be able to attend the Museum’s Veterans Day ceremony and explore the special exhibit Our War Too, focused on women servicemembers during World War II, as well as the brand-new Liberation Pavilion.
Teaching materials will be provided for free. Lunch, coffee, and parking are also included.
