During this Lunchbox Lecture, Chris Cook, Lighthouse Director at the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation and Lighthouse Museum, will delve into the history of the lakefront of New Orleans during the war years. Although little remains of it today, this lakefront spanned between the New Canal Lighthouse and the Industrial Canal and was home to a substantial support system in World War II. Today, where vibrant neighborhoods and a university stand today, once hosted large hospitals, training facilities and a POW camp.
