When the Allies desperately needed cargo ships, women bravely stepped up to supply them by working at shipyards across the country, including in Brunswick, Georgia. 

The Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum confirmed retired Lieutenant Colonel Harry Stewart Jr.'s death, saying he passed away peacefully at his home in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

As many as half a million civilians remained in Stalingrad when the Germans approached in the late summer of 1942.
