The National WWII Museum in New Orleans marks a milestone by welcoming its three-millionth visitor.

The National WWII Museum today announced that it has received a grant from Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit veteran service organization whose mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors. The $30,000 grant will expand the Museum’s ability to aid injured soldiers’ return to civic life and improve their experience of reentering the job market.

On May 10, 2014, The National WWII Museum will hosted its second annual Robotics Challenge, an exciting opportunity for middle school students to participate in active problem solving all based on real-life scenarios from WWII. This regional student robotics competition serves as a signature piece of the Museum’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) initiative aimed at encouraging young people to explore opportunities in science and math.

The National WWII Museum today announced a multi-year WWII Summer Teacher Institute that features an immersive professional development program for high school history and social studies teachers. The program is a momentous step forward in how the Museum interacts with educators, ensuring that teachers nationwide have the content knowledge, instructional techniques, and creative and engaging curriculum materials needed to teach WWII history.

The National World War II Museum participates in National History Day and Louisiana History Day.
