Iconic entertainer of the Jazz Age, famous for her risqué performances, Josephine Baker responded to the start of World War II by becoming a spy for the French Resistance. Known as the “Creole Goddess” of France, Baker used her celebrity to gain access to high-ranking Axis officials.
During World War II, surgeons and medical assistants created new treatments and procedures in plastic surgery that are still used in modern practice. These techniques not only improved soldiers’ physical appearance, but also their morale, by restoring their sense of pride and confidence.

The 2017 Victory Ball will be a lavish reception featuring cocktails and culinary creations by The American Sector Restaurant + Bar, live music, entertainment, and dancing as well as unlimited access to the Museum’s amazing pavilions and exhibit galleries throughout the evening.
Sponsors and Patrons will receive early event entry starting at 6:00 p.m. as well as exclusive access to the Patron Party, featuring a cocktail reception and passed hors d’oeuvres, lounge seating, private full bar, and entertainment.
To honor the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country, special admission prices are offered to veterans and active-duty servicemembers.
Proceeds from Victory Ball will support ongoing preservation efforts and public programming at The National WWII Museum.
