The National WWII Museum will commemorate Memorial Day by honoring the courage and sacrifice of fallen servicemembers through a series of public programs. On May 30, the Museum’s events will kick off at 10:30 a.m. with patriotic music selections by the Marine Corps Band New Orleans Brass Quintet. The performance will be followed by a special ceremony featuring personal tributes from relatives of those who lost their lives during World War II.
The Museum hosted a series of commemorative programs—both in New Orleans and online—paying tribute to veterans of all eras.
After temporarily closing its doors on March 13, 2020 to protect the health and safety of visitors, staff and volunteers, The National WWII Museum will officially reopen to the public on Memorial Day, May 25, 2020.
Early on December 7, 1941, citizens and servicemembers alike in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, faced terror as Japanese planes rained fire on the island in a stunning surprise attack.
Join us to commemorate those who have selflessly served our country and whose sacrifices we must never forget.
Saluting the men and women who have dedicated and continue to dedicate their lives to our freedom.
