Tyler Bamford was the Sherry and Alan Leventhal Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of War and Democracy at The National WWII Museum from 2019-2021. He obtained his PhD in history from Temple University and his BA in history from Lafayette College.
This Paramount picture musical film—which features an all-star cast including Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Betty Hutton, Veronica Lake, and Fred MacMurray—was made during World War II as a morale booster, with the specific intent of entertaining the troops overseas and civilians back home and to encourage fundraising, as well as to show the studios' patriotism.
As the nation celebrates Independence Day, the Museum will host several patriotic events that will be free and open to the public.
