The National WWII Museum celebrated a successful conclusion to its Road to Victory Capital Campaign in November 2023, raising over $420 million in public and private funds. In nearly two decades, the campaign supported the Museum’s expansion into a seven-pavilion, seven-acre campus that tells the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world, fulfilling the original campus Master Plan and transforming the Museum into the world-class institution it is today.
Road to Victory Capital Campaign
After nearly two decades, the Road to Victory Capital Campaign ended in 2023 with more than $420 million raised to fund new buildings, state-of-the-art exhibits, increased preservation efforts, impactful education initiatives, research and scholarship programs, and outreach efforts, cementing the Museum’s status as one of the world’s foremost cultural institutions.
Completed Projects
The Museum's transformation from a single exhibition hall to a seven-pavilion campus was propelled by the campaign. See a timeline of our ambitious expansion.
Digitization
Museum curators have recorded more than 9,000 unique personal accounts and collected more than 130,000 photographs and digital images. Recording these stories is only the first step—the subsequent dissemination of these materials will bring invaluable insight and learning for future generations.
Donors
We owe the success of our capital campaign to our committed donors who are dedicated to the Museum mission: telling the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world.
Endowment
The endowment of The National WWII Museum was established in order for the institution to meet current goals and to ensure that resources would be available to meet future needs of our expanding exhibits, infrastructure, and staff.
