Join The National WWII Museum to commemorate the 81st anniversary of V-J Day and the official end of World War II. Hear from Curator Ross Patterson as he discusses artifacts in the Museum's collection related to the Japanese surrender and the end of the war in the Pacific, including flags from the IJN Nagato and the USS Somersworth.
The commemoration will also include a compelling conversation with WWII veteran Lee Broussard, an eyewitness to the surrender on the USS Missouri, as he reflects on the war’s end and its enduring impact.
A reception from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. will precede the event and include light hors d’oeuvres, beer, and wine. Guests can also explore a Hands on History station featuring artifacts from the Museum's collection related to the war in the Pacific.
