During World War II, millions of American women entered the workforce—many for the first time—as the wartime economy created job opportunities that had traditionally belonged to men. "Rosie the Riveter" became one of the most popular and enduring symbols of the era, a representation of women's contributions to the war effort on the Home Front.
In this special Dinner with a Curator event, enjoy the powerful storytelling, music, and choreography of the new BB's Stage Door Canteen show Rosie! Discover the real history behind this iconic female figure with Museum Senior Curator & Director of Curatorial Affairs Kim Guise, and learn how history is brought to life through original theatrical productions with Museum Director of Entertainment Erica Jensen and Rosie! writer Ricky Graham.
Dinner with a Curator is an evening of dinner and history hosted by The American Sector Restaurant & Bar culinary team and Museum professionals. Guests participate in discussion on a featured topic related to World War II, which is interpreted through the Museum's collection and a theme-inspired three-course dinner paired with beverage specials. Ticket sales end 48 hours prior to the start of the event.
