Learn about the story of Edwin Nye, an American Prisoner Of War held by the Japanese during World War II and later the father to Bill Nye “The Science Guy.” During his captivity, Edwin Nye used sundials to keep track of the time, as well as to keep himself sane. In this STEAM webinar, students will learn how to make sundials of their own, as well as how American servicemen used found objects to make items of trench art. Handouts and instructions for download will be provided for all activities.
