The National WWII Museum Presents Tom Lea: LIFE and World War II
The National WWII Museum today announced its newest special exhibit: Tom Lea: LIFE and World War II, sponsored by The Woldenberg Foundation. The exhibition, which opened to the public on June 24, features nearly 30 original paintings and illustrations from LIFE magazine war correspondent and artist Tom Lea. On loan from the US Army Center of Military History, as well as private collections and museums, the artworks depict a realistic view of war, while also reflecting Lea’s unwavering bravery as he observed US armed forces fighting on land, at sea and in the air.

The National WWII Museum Receives Veterans Braintrust Award from Congressional Black Caucus
The Congressional Black Caucus Veterans Braintrust (CBCVB), an advisory group to members of Congress on issues related to African Americans and veterans affairs, has awarded its 2015 Veterans Braintrust Award to The National WWII Museum in recognition of work on behalf of African American veterans in World War II. Award selection is based on the support of the president and first lady and stems from the Museum’s development of a special exhibit, <em>Fighting for the Right to Fight: African American Experiences in World War II</em>.

National WWII Museum Introduces 'Salute to Freedom' Awards in Conjunction with National History Day Contest
As part of a unique partnership with The Kenneth E. Behring National History Day Contest, The National WWII Museum today announced it will host a “Salute to Freedom” contest awarding one student from each of the 50 states with an all-expense-paid trip to New Orleans.
