To mark the Museum closing of the special exhibit dedicated to Louisiana's WWII history, watch two musical performances and a presentation about Louisiana music during wartime.

More than 40,000 students across the country participated in the Museum's live interactive Electronic Field Trip.  

This legislation was the culmination of efforts by American citizens, activists, and politicians across the political spectrum to insulate the United States from foreign conflicts and prevent the country from being drawn into another global war. 

WWII US Marine Corps Sergeant Harold Hammett, fallen on Tarawa in 1943, is finally laid to rest in the family plot after 80 years.

“No greater fighting combat team has ever deployed for battle,” General Douglas McArthur noted after the war of the 158th Infantry Regiment “Bushmasters,” which was made up predominantly of Mexican Americans and members of the Pima and Navajo tribes from Arizona.
