Local teachers are invited to join Museum staff in the Louisiana Memorial Pavilion for our Teacher Appreciation Happy Hour.
Welcome back to school, teachers! Join us on Wednesday, September 6, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., for our Fall Teacher Appreciation Happy Hour. Admission is FREE for teachers and other education professionals. We'll have two new exhibits to share: The Arsenal of Democracy: The Herman and George R. Brown Salute to the Home Front, and our newest special exhibit, The Pelican State Goes to War: Louisiana in World War II, presented by The Alta and John Franks Foundation. We'll also have the latest information on the Museum's educational resources, field trips, and programs, plus door prizes and free refreshments

Participants enter the Louisiana Memorial Pavilion through the Museum's main entrance on Andrew Higgins Drive. Paid parking is available in the Museum's parking garage at 1024 Magazine Street.

In this documentary, 11 WWII veterans from Carrier Air Group 11 share stories with the grandson of their fellow airman. Discover personal stories from Guadalcanal to the USS Hornet, told entirely by the surviving veterans—in their own words.
Stay with us after the screening for a panel discussion with filmmaker George Retelas and two WWII airmen from Carrier Air Group 11.
