Seth Paridon
Seth Paridon was a staff historian at The National WWII Museum from 2005 to 2020. He began his career conducting oral histories and research for HBO’s miniseries The Pacific and holds the distinction of being the first historian hired by the Museum’s Research Department. In the 12 years he was Manager of Research Services, Seth and his team increased the oral history collection from 25 to nearly 5,000 oral histories.

A New Orleans native, James Linn first became involved with the institution then known as The National D-Day Museum in 2001 as an eighth-grade volunteer on weekends and during the summer. Linn joined The National WWII Museum staff in 2014 and served as a Curator until 2020.

Sing along with Maria, the Captain, and all the von Trapp kids as The National WWII Museum hosts a participatory screening of the 1965 film classic The Sound of Music.
Back by popular demand, guests should anticipate a night of campy nuns, costumes, sweet songs, and laughter. Participants are encouraged to dress up, boo the Nazis, and sing along with everyone’s favorite Rodgers & Hammerstein tunes from the Austrian countryside—“Edelweiss,” “My Favorite Things,” “Climb Ev'ry Mountain,” “Do-Re-Mi,” and, of course, the stirring title song.
Hosts Becky Allen, Sean Patterson, and Mandy Zirkenbach will preside over the festivities, which include an intermission costume contest, a selfie station, and giant video displays screening the film as well as a live feed from participants’ social-media accounts for real-time commentary and 140-character comedy.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. in the Museum’s US Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center. The film will begin at 7:00 p.m. Snacks will be available for purchase, as well as a cash bar.
**Please Note: The Sound Of Music Sing-Along will feature unpredictable interactive elements in a live setting—costumes, Twitter posts, and the larger-than-life hosts—that may not be appropriate for all ages.**

Join us in BB's Stage Door Canteen, where contestants will vie for the title of the next Stage Door Idol! Area hopefuls will perform hits of the war years for celebrity judges and will be singing alongside our Victory Six Swing Band. Finalists will compete for the $1,000 grand prize. Come cheer on these talented singers! Four local celebrity judges will pick the Stage Door Idol winner. All preliminary rounds and finals are open seating—$10 at the door for the finals. (All preliminary rounds are only $5 at the door.)
