Who will be the next Stage Door Idol?

The National WWII Museum hosts annual 40’s-themed talent competition

NEW ORLEANS (June 13, 2013) — The National WWII Museum is seeking the most talented singers from across the region to compete for a grand prize of $1,000. The five-week competition will feature performances of the greatest hits of the war years for local celebrity judges including Leah Chase, Scoot, Lena Prima and John Boutté.

Open auditions will be held on Saturday, June 22 from 10:00 am – noon, Sunday, June 23 from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm and Monday, June 24 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm in the Stage Door Canteen. All contestants must attend an open audition to advance to the preliminary rounds. Individuals or groups are asked to sing a song a capella that was written, recorded or is in the style of the 1940s.

Finalists will receive an invitation to compete in one of four preliminary rounds in July. Winners of each preliminary round will compete in the finals on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 for a grand prize of $1,000. All competition dates are open to the public.
