NEW ORLEANS (November 13, 2018) – The National WWII Museum will host the 11th International Conference on World War II in New Orleans from Thursday, November 29 to Saturday, December 1. Presented by The Pritzker Military Museum & Library and The Pritzker Military Foundation, this year’s three-day event will feature a preconference symposium exploring the legacies, leadership lessons and tactics of World War I and how it affected World War II.
The premier educational gathering of top writers, scholars and enthusiasts will include over 30 speakers discussing topics ranging from Operation Market-Garden, an unsuccessful military operation fought in the Netherlands, to the battles of Peleliu and the Huertgen Forest to underappreciated WWII campaigns. The lineup of prominent historians and best-selling WWII authors features Rick Atkinson, Sir Antony Beevor, James Holland, Keith Lowe, Margaret MacMillan and Robert Citino. The conference will also include a special presentation on the Normandy landings from Museum President & CEO Emeritus Gordon H. “Nick” Mueller, PhD.
