The National WWII Museum is honored to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the “Band of Brothers” miniseries premiere by hosting a daylong Symposium in New Orleans on Saturday, August 13, 2022.
The National WWII Museum will mark the 77th anniversary of D-Day and 21st birthday of the Museum on Sunday, June 6, 2021, highlighted by the virtual Dr. Hal Baumgarten D-Day Commemoration Ceremony that will be livestreamed throughout the Museum.
Join The National WWII Museum as we commemorate the surrender of Nazi Germany and V-E Day by taking a look back at the events of the year after surrender and how they shaped the modern world with Dr. Rob Citino, Samuel Zemurray Stone Senior Historian and the Executive Director, The Institute for the Study of War and Democracy.
The National WWII Museum, in partnership with the Mayor’s Military Advisory Committee, will also host a virtual Armed Forces Day Ceremony on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. (CT) to honor all past and present member of the Armed Forces.

Boysie Bollinger, longtime Trustee and one of the Museum’s biggest champions, together with the Museum’s Founding President & CEO Emeritus Gordon H. “Nick” Mueller, PhD, and current President & CEO Stephen Watson, will reminisce about what it was like to be a part of the grand opening festivities on June 6, 2000; how World War II history has become a larger part of the nation’s fabric, spurring the expansion of The National WWII Museum; and the Museum's continued transformation into one of the premier cultural and educational institutions in the world.
