The Tulane Concert Band presents its spring 2019 program, “Variations on America.” Drawing on a wide range of repertoire originating from the concert hall, the Broadway stage, and the silver screen, the band will explore the sounds, structures, and styles that have come to define American music, as a reflection of the diverse and varied elements of American culture. Featured composers include Morton Gould, William Schuman, Charles Ives, Antonin Dvorak, Aaron Copland, Philip Glass, Bernard Herrmann, Leonard Bernstein, and George Gershwin.
