Stephen Bateman joined the National WW II Museum in 2023 as a Volunteer and soon after became a staff member at the Museum’s Jenny Craig Institute for the Study of War and Democracy. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Stephen joined the United States Army in 2008 where he served for 7 years with combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. During his military career, he served in the 593rd Sustainment Brigade and the 75th Ranger Regiment, Special Troops Battalion. He earned his Master of Arts in Government and Public Policy, International Security Studies from the University of Arizona in 2019. In his current role as Institute Associate, he supports clients with historical research requests, writes veteran bios, and conducts research on WW II and military history.
