Around Campus

WWII Motor Pool  
Now Open

In early February, the Museum opened the WWII Motor Pool in John E. Kushner Restoration Pavilion, a dedicated facility for the restoration and preservation of WWII macro-artifacts. Visitors can watch restoration work, performed by Museum staff and volunteers, from an observation space to get a unique peek into the maintenance of the Museum’s priceless collection of vehicles and other artifacts.

PT-305 Below Deck Private Tours 
Now Available for Booking

Ever wonder what it’s like to go below deck on a WWII-era vessel? Now you can experience it firsthand on a new private tour of the Museum’s iconic patrol torpedo boat, PT-305. Get an exclusive, up-close look at PT-305's deck and interior spaces as you learn of her wartime crew members and tours of duty. No time for a tour? You can still explore the vessel’s decks and stories at our new interactive displays in John E. Kushner Restoration Pavilion.

Come Back Fighting: The USS New Orleans at War 
Opening April 9

This new special exhibit will showcase the prolific history and remarkable resilience of the decorated heavy cruiser USS New Orleans and her veteran crew, from the warship’s 1933 christening to her participation in nearly every major battle of the Pacific war.

The Victory Belles Salute to Hope  
Matinee and Evening Shows, March through June

In this new show from The National WWII Museum's delightful vocal trio, audiences are swept into 1940s America, tracing the nation’s path from swing-era optimism to wartime resilience. Through iconic songs of the period, the Victory Belles reveal how music, legendary entertainers like Bob Hope, and treasured letters from home lifted spirits and kept hope alive when it mattered most.
