The Museum is saddened by the passing of author, historian and friend Jim Hornfischer, yesterday, June 2nd at the young age of 55.

Jim was the bestselling author of many books including Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors, Ship of Ghosts, The Fleet at Flood Tide and Neptune’s Inferno.

It was this last book, that we invited Jim down to speak on for our 2019 “Guadalcanal Symposium.” Sadly, this was the last time we had the pleasure of hosting him, after a number of Conferences and book events he had participated in prior.

You can watch his presentation, and please share, to see what a great scholar he was.

Not only was Jim a great author and historian himself, but he championed and represented many of our friends who found success in the publishing field.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and the entire WWII community.
