Join The National WWII Museum as we remember WWII veteran Lawrence Brooks on what would have been his 114th birthday with a special performance of Fighting Then and Now, a play written and performed by students of Warren Easton High School’s Talented Theater Program.
Fighting Then and Now tells the story of a teenager who travels back in time to World War II with the help of a guardian angel, who is determined to save young Black men from trouble and help them see the right way to save their future. Will the young man change his ways, or will he still believe the past cannot affect the future?
The play was inspired by Brooks’s life, as well as a school field trip to The National WWII Museum in early 2023.
This performance is free and open to the public with no registration required.
