Drew Brees: Salute to Service

The New Orleans Saints star quarterback honors his WWII-veteran grandfathers -- and furthers his support of the USO -- for the NFL's My Cause, My Cleats initiative.

For his contribution to the NFL's My Cause, My Cleats initiative, Drew Brees chose to honor his grandfathers, who served in the Pacific and China-Burma-India theaters in World War II. NFL players wore customized game footwear to draw attention to charities of their choice during week 13 of the season. Supporting the USO, Brees wore his cleats during the December 3 New Orleans Saints home game against the Carolina Panthers. Portions of a video series about the making of the cleats were filmed at the Museum. Watch the video series below.
