Amber Mitchell

Former Assistant Director of Public Engagement

Amber N. Mitchell is the former Assistant Director of Public Engagement at The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA, where she led the public programs and community engagement team in their efforts to create innovative public programs for a variety of audiences, as well as purposeful relationship building within the Greater New Orleans area. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Wayne State University and a master’s in Public History from Indiana University-­Purdue University, Indianapolis. She is passionate about telling the stories of underrepresented peoples in historical institutions, as well as making these institutions more accessible to all people.
