The Museum features rotating exhibits that draw on its own collections, as well as relevant traveling exhibits from leading institutions around the world in both its Senator John Alario, Jr. Special Exhibition Hall and Joe W. and Dorothy D. Brown Foundation Special Exhibit Gallery. These exhibits highlight WWII-related subjects not covered in the Museum’s permanent exhibits, as well as more in-depth coverage of subjects that are in its permanent exhibits.
Degenerate! Hitler’s War on Modern Art
This special exhibition created by the Jewish Museum Milwaukee examines the Nazi campaign against modern art and music and features works by artists deemed “degenerate” by the Third Reich. Blending history and art, the exhibit explores how modernist art was weaponized as a tool of Nazi propaganda and public indoctrination, and how artists and musicians responded to the escalating suppression.
On display November 6, 2025, through May 10, 2026, in the Senator John Alario, Jr. Special Exhibition Hall

On American Shores: The Aleutian Islands Campaign
