THE NATIONAL WWII MUSEUM VICTORY GARDEN:
The National WWII Museum’s Victory Garden is a recreation of a WWII Victory Garden using current sustainable techniques. Our Victory Garden can demonstrate that the lessons and examples from the World War II Home Front maintain lasting relevance within today’s society through field trips and weekend educational programming. The Victory Garden will be maintained by master gardeners and volunteers with seasonal produce being used in the Museum’s restaurants and local food pantries and the Museum’s restaurants – the American Sector and Soda Shop.
Garden Gateways at The National WWII Museum
Fall fun this Saturday in the Museum’s Victory Garden! The Museum’s Victory Corps will be in the garden from 10 am – 12 pm. Kids can make a mini-scarecrow perfect for fall decorating. All visitors can see what’s growing in our Victory Garden every Saturday morning in October. Visit more than one local garden this October and be entered to win a prize from the garden of your choice. Print out your New Orleans Garden Gateways card and enjoy family fun time this fall!
