Bob Malott is the former Chairman & CEO of FMC Corporation. Born in Boston in 1926, he was an ETM 2nd Class in the Navy during WWII. He received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Kansas in 1948.
After graduating from Harvard Business School, Mr. Malott joined FMC Corporation. He serves on the Boards of the Hoover Institution, American Enterprise Institute, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Aspen Institute, the Chicago Botanic Garden, The Henry Company and the University of Chicago. Until recently, he served on the Boards of the Public Broadcasting Service, the National Park Foundation, the Argonne National Laboratory, and he was the former chairman of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. He has been a director of Bell & Howell, United Technologies Corporation, Amoco and Sovereign Specialty Chemical Corp. Mr. Malott is a member of the Museum’s Founders Society.
