Rona Simmons Presents “The Other Veterans of World War II: Stories from Behind the Front Lines”

For decades, the dramatic stories of WWII soldiers have been the stuff of memoirs, novels, documentaries, and feature films. Yet half of the 16 million men and women who served did so in less visible roles, behind the front lines. This lecture will bring noncombat veterans into the spotlight, revealing the dramatic stories they have to tell and explaining how their everyday tasks, unexpected acts of sacrifice, and faith and humor contributed mightily to the outcome of World War II.

Lunchbox and Lagniappe Lectures are free and open to the public. For more information call 504-528-1944 x 229.
