Guenter Bischof presents Marshall Plan in Austria
Austria claimed to be a "special case" during the Marshall Plan due to the heavy-handed Soviet presence there. Vienna asked Washington for a large amount of aid and received it—Austria was one of the highest recipients of Marshall Plan aid on a per-capita basis. This talk will demonstrate the levers of American economic "nation-building" during the early Cold War through the eyes of Austria, one of 16 aid recipients.
