The National World War II Museum
strives to preserve the legacy that is the American spirit.
Through the stories of those who fought in, supported, and lived
through World War II, this legacy is preserved and passed on to
future generations.
WHAT IS SHARE YOUR STORY?
Leave Your Legacy is a registry of stories and pictures
submitted by veterans and others who experienced WWII. The Share
Your Story registry will be a way for you to make your memories
available to your loved ones now and in the future. The registry
will be permanently available on our web site and will be
searchable by name, branch of service, hometown, significant
event in WWII, and keyword. We hope to build this registry so
that firsthand accounts of the war will be available to people
all over the world.
We encourage veterans, Home Front workers, medical personnel,
other service personnel, as well as those who were children
during the war, to contribute to Leave Your Legacy. You may also
contribute a wartime story that you have been told by a relative
or friend. While this registry of stories will not be a
collection of full-length oral histories, we encourage you to
read our Oral History Guidelines to help you gather information.

 |
Stories will be posted within two weeks of submission. If
you have provided us with your e-mail address, the Museum
will notify you when your story is posted.
Please note:
This registry is not a collection of full-length oral
histories. Feel free to submit a story here as well as an
oral history for our archives.
To donate a fell-length oral history to the museum's
collection, please call Betsy Plumb at (504) 527-6012, ext.
