Annual WWII Quiz Bowl held at the National WWII Museum and Televised on Cox 10
NEW ORLEANS, La—Cox Communications is proud to present The National WWII Museum’s High School Quiz Bowl 2009. The Quiz Bowl is a two-part competition challenging the best and the brightest local high schools students to demonstrate their knowledge on one of the world’s most historic periods, World War II.
The preliminary event had teams from nineteen schools answering thematic rounds of WWII questions as well as tackling challenging teamwork exercises. Teams were competing for two spots in next month’s championship round. The following schools joined in the competition:
Benjamin Franklin High School, Brother Martin High School, Isidore Newman High School, Jesuit High School, Lusher Charter School, Notre Dame High School, Mandeville High School, St. Paul’s School, Tara High, Teurlings Catholic High School, Grace Home Educators, Haynes Academy, John Curtis Christian School, Riverdale High School, Academy of the Sacred Heart, Destrehan High School, Belle Chasse High School and Country Day.
The Teams from St. Paul’s School in Covington, LA, and Benjamin Franklin High School in New Orleans, LA, finished with the high scores. These two teams will compete in a championship round on April 24 at the Cox Studio 10 in Harahan at 6:30 p.m. This final competition will be televised on Cox 10 and Cox 4 in Baton Rouge/Greater Louisiana.
This will mark the annual competition’s fifth event and is sponsored by the National WWII Museum, Cox and Gainsburgh, Benjamin, David, Meunier & Warshauer, L.L.C.
The Final Competition between the St. Paul’s School and Benjamin Franklin High School will broadcast live on April 24, at 6:30 p.m. and will be taped in the Cox 10 Studio.
