Donated items may be rehoused and handled according to these
accepted
preservation guidelines.
If the items were made during the WWII years, they are artifacts; if
they were copied a number of years after the war, they are library
items.
Important: Most scrapbooking techniques are destructive to the items
being presented. Library items may be re-bound for public
consumption in the future, so assembling copies of documents and
photos into expensive, bulky binding & matting might not be the best
use of your time. Simple is best. Families and individuals might
better serve their memories by scanning images and letters and
incorporating them into a printed booklet; thus the items could be
accessible and still protected.
You will receive a thank-you letter for your donation within 8 - 12
weeks of receipt.
