Green Light; Go! Airborne Operations in WWII
On Display: March 17, 2005 - April 30, 2005

Location:1st Floor, Louisiana Memorial Pavilion
The Second World War was characterized by new types of soldiers. One of the most innovative and daring of these groups was the Airborne Soldiers, men who arrived at their objective by parachuting from airplanes.

Originating between World Wars I and II, and perfected through trial by combat, the exploits of Airborne soldiers from all armies is legendary. The National World War II Museum will examine these soldiers, their stories and equipment through the use of artifacts, photographs and personal accounts. The exhibit will examine not only the exploits of American Airborne soldiers but also the exploits of their counterparts in Allied and Axis armies.
