The Museum Expansion
Exhibit is Here!
Museum visitors
can view our Capital Expansion plans
in a special exhibit in the Louisiana
Memorial Pavilion. The 400-foot exhibit
is the most up-to-date illustration
of our plans to triple the size of
the Museum's exhibit and educational
space and broaden our interpretation
of the American experience during
World War II. In the center of the
exhibit is a dramatic, scale model
of the building expansion developed
by Voorsanger Architects PC of New
York City. The surrounding walls are
filled with artistic renderings of
new exhibits and state-of-the art
technologies being developed by the
exhibit design firm Gallagher &
Associates of Bethesda, Maryland.
A free-standing case shows selected
artifacts related to topics we will
be covering in our expansion. Operation
Museum Expansion opened May 2nd, 2004,
and will be updated and available
for viewing through the life of the
capital Expansion project.
