• Jefferson Amateur Radio Club – display of WWII vintage radio gear and a modern amateur radio station
• Visitors can view the restoration work of the Museum’s Sherman Tank and talk with restorers

• The Links Incorporated – a collation of predominantly African American women from the greater New Orleans area in collaboration with other national organizations to begin a petition drive to collect 1 million signatures from registered voters to convince the President and Members of Congress to posthumously award WWII Navy Seaman, Doris “Dorie” Miller the Congressional Medal of Honor.
• Electronic exhibits – vintage footage of V-E newsreels and archival film footage of the celebration of the Victory in Europe
• Living History Corps - Re-enactors
• Boogie Woogie Weekend 1:00 – 3:00 – Love big ban dances and the sounds of 1940’s music but trip over your own two feet? Come and learn to swing dance from members of Dance New Orleans. The Fox Trot was one of the most significant developments in ballroom dancing. The combination of quick and slow steps was originally danced to ragtime music. Within an hour, you will be dancing away your worries to some of the biggest swing hits of the war years.

Dancin’ in the Streets – a triumphant 60th anniversary salute to “Victory in Europe” Day. Bring your crown to our street party for music; celebratory drinks and dancing. THE HANGAR is the hot spot for this special occasion. Jimmy Maxwell and his Orchestra will keep you dancing to great ‘40’s tunes, and special victory libations will keep the party going. Period dress is encouraged and dance lessons will be available courtesy of Dance New Orleans beginning at 7:15 p.m. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 for members and $15 general public; tickets at the door are $20. • Louisiana Memorial Pavilion –
treat Mom to an elegant, afternoon Mother’s
Day tea. As part of our special Victory
in Europe weekend, we have planned a special
treat for Mom, complete with assorted
blends of international teas and with
sweet and savory finger foods. Christian
Dior of Saks Fifth Avenue has provided
small gift bags for all attendees, while
Fleur de Paris on Royal Street in the
French Quarter will display some of its
finest ladies’ millinery. Tickets
